Kim Chambers overcame a paralyzing accident to become a professional marathon swimmer, becoming the first woman to swim from the Farallon Islands to the Golden Gate Bridge—nearly 30 miles; you can watch the documentary (“Kim Swims”) on Netflix.

 Beyond her athletic achievements, Kim is also a survivor of breast cancer and domestic abuse. Remarkably, she’s only viewed these setbacks as opportunities for growth and transformation.
